The objective of FCP is to provide an atmosphere in which both caretakers and children can socialize, learn, and grow in a cooperative environment. We believe that parenting is best experienced in community, and that children thrive when they can explore, learn, and play alongside others.

🤝 A Cooperative at Heart

FCP is fully volunteer-run and guided by a small Board of parents. Families take turns leading the weekly class and contributing in other small ways (setup, cleanup, coordination). This shared work helps us keep the program accessible, low-cost, and community-centered.

There are no required credentials or teaching experience—just a willingness to show up and share.

🏠 Our Programming Space

Family Circle Playgroup is proud to offer a well-equipped facility that supports our cooperative learning environment. Our space includes:

• Three classrooms designed for classes.

• A gymnasium for physical activities, games, and movement-based play.

• A multipurpose room and stage for in-house events, performances, and community gatherings.

These spaces are carefully curated to provide flexibility and variety in our programming, allowing children and caregivers to experience different kinds of learning and play in a comfortable and supportive setting.

🧩 The Structure of a Playgroup Day

Each playgroup day includes:

• Open Free Play – A chance for kids to move, explore, and interact in an unstructured environment

• Circle Time – A gentle gathering with songs, movement, or books

• Parent-Led Class – A short, age-appropriate class led by a rotating caregiver

• Snack & Social Time – Children share a snack and continue free play while adults connect

• Closing Circle – A simple goodbye routine to support transitions

The parent-led class changes weekly and may include art, music, nature, storytelling, or simple science—always guided by the strengths and creativity of the teaching caregiver. It is the leading parent's responsibility to provide snack, a book, a craft and an activity relating to the theme of the week!

🗓 Class Schedule & Age Groups

At Family Circle Playgroup, we offer flexible class options to accommodate families throughout the week, from September through June, in line with the Moorestown School District Calendar.

• FCP
  Our Playgroup is designed for children 12 months to 5 years old. Classes are organized into age-specific groups, typically separated by approximately six-month age ranges, with 4-10 families per class.

  • Morning Classes: 9:15 am - 11:30 am

  • Afternoon Classes: 12:30 pm - 2:45 pm

• FCP+
  We also offer afternoon Homeschool classes for children 5 to 8 years old, with 6-10 families per class. These classes run on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 2:45 pm.

Each class provides a nurturing environment where children can learn, socialize, and grow, with plenty of opportunities for both structured activities and free play.

📋 Class Scheduling & Policies

Class placement is based on availability and age group. Parents should indicate their preferred days and times for playgroup on the Enrollment Page registration form. After collecting all forms and fees, FCP will match families with children of similar ages and compatible availability in August. Once class assignments are made, you will be notified of your assigned day and time.

Please note, once classes are confirmed, tuition is non-refundable.

Parents are required to stay on the premises with their child(ren) at all times during playgroup. Tagalongs (younger siblings) are welcome to attend for an additional fee.
